Joe Greene

In addition to his role as the CEO and Owner of OrthoVise, Joe enjoys working as the Program Manager for Outreach and Development within the University of Wisconsin Hospital Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation.

He has worked for the University of Wisconsin Hospital Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation since 1991, when he initiated his career there as an athletic trainer and clinician. He has worked in management and administration across the Department since 1997. Joe currently coordinates business and philanthropic development activities for the UW Hospital Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation and University of Wisconsin Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. In his role, he represents the needs of all orthopedic subspecialties including Hand and Upper Extremity, Joint Replacement, Orthopedic Oncology, Sports Medicine, Spine Medicine, Pediatric Orthopedics, Foot and Ankle, and Orthopedic Trauma.

Joe’s has been fortunate over the course of his career to have had experiences which have allowed him the opportunity to consult formally with orthopedic and sports medicine practices of all sizes since 2010. He particularly enjoys helping implement new and innovative healthcare service delivery opportunities. He has a particular interest in Healthcare Information Technology and helping evolve its meaning to orthopedics.

Brian Bizub

In addition to his role as a consultant for OrthoVise, Brian has been the CEO for a 17 physician practice since 2008. Palm Beach Orthopaedic Institute has four locations throughout Palm Beach County and is just one of the positions Brian has held where he was influential in growing the practice by adding locations as well as recruiting physicians.

Brian has 20+ years of experience in various levels of hospital administration along the eastern coast where he has been instrumental in the implementation of programs to increase employee and patient satisfaction scores. He has also been recognized as an expert in OR efficiency, Productivity, and Health Care Advisement by Tenet Healthsystems and AHCS.

Brian attended West Virginia University and University of Phoenix where he holds degrees in business administration and healthcare administration and is currently a mentor for the Florida State MBA program. In addition to presenting at various meetings across the country, he has also participated in several case-studies promoting technological advances in healthcare. Brian serves as an executive board advisor for companies including DJO Global and Automated Health Care Systems and communicates daily with companies across the country and internationally on various issues related to business operations and strategic planning.

Forrest Pecha

Along with his work with OrthoVise LLC and DJO Global, Forrest is currently the Director of Clinical Residency and Outreach at St Luke’s Health Systems in Boise, ID. He joined the team at St Luke’s in January 2011 and is developing the athletic training residency program and building community outreach programs and business development for the Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic practices.

Forrest spent the previous seven years at Emory Healthcare in the Orthopaedic and Spine department as the Program Manager and Director of Athletic Training Services for Sports Medicine. While at Emory he contributed to the growth of the sports medicine department, with physician growth from 2.5 FTEs in 2004 to 7.5 FTEs and clinical athletic trainers from 2 to 10 FTE, at time of his departure in 2011. In addition Forrest was instrumental with the development of the athletic training residency program and sports medicine fellowships in both primary care and orthopedics.

Forrest has consulted for many institutions and developed successful clinical efficiency models and athletic training residencies. He is also a member of the National Association of Athletic Trainers (NATA) Clinical & Emerging Practices Athletic Trainers Committee, one of two physician extender liaisons. Forrest has presented both nationally and internationally on orthopedic clinical efficiencies and clinical use of athletic trainers, including the AOSSM, AMSSM, AAOE, and NATA national conferences.

Forrest was the Head Athletic Trainer for the U.S. Men’s Alpine Ski Team from 2000-2004, having participated in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games and 2001 and 2003 World Alpine Skiing Championships. Forrest has also spent time as a rotational athletic trainer for U.S. Soccer National Teams since 2006. He participated in the 2007 Men’s U-20 World Cup Tournament and the 2007 and 2011 Men’s U-20 World Cup Qualifying Tournaments for the U.S. National Men’s U-20 Team.

Bill Pupkis, OrthoVise

Bill Pupkis

Bill Pupkis was employed as the CEO of Capital Region Orthopaedics from May 2001 to September 2012 when he retired. During his tenure, the practice grew from 16 to 33 physicians, went from a 4 OR ASC to 6 ORs and added an MRI Suite. Bill began in the business of medicine in 1977 as the Administrator of Orthopedic Associates of a four surgeon practice in Worcester, Mass. Mr. Pupkis was a consultant for ten years helping over 600 clients in 13 states with virtually every aspect of the business of medicine. He was an adjunct professor for five years at the University of New England where he taught undergraduates Ambulatory Care Management. Mr. Pupkis was the Executive Director of a PHO and IPA in Winston-Salem, NC serving several counties with over 100,000 lives in global capitation. He was a Board Director of the American Association of Orthopaedic Executives [AAOE] twice, the Education Chair for the AAOE, and the founder and Past-President of NYS BONES, Inc. Mr. Pupkis satisfied the examination and continuing education requirements for American College of Medical Practice Executives [ACMPE] certification and was granted the status as Certified Member in 1995.

When he retired as the CEO of Capital Region Orthopaedics, he and his wife moved back to Maine, built a house, and began MainelyTwigs, a custom cabinet shop where he builds furniture and toys, as well as stick furniture where he cut saplings to create tables and chairs. Mr. Pupkis still does get to share his knowledge of the business of medicine as a consultant, author, and presenter.

At the 2014 annual American Association of Orthopaedic Executives [AAOE], during the Presidential reception Mr. Pupkis was given the first ever, Life Achievement Award by the AAOE Board of Directors.

Barbara Sack, OrthoVise

Barbara Sack

In addition to being an Orthovise advisor, Barbara has been Executive Director for Midwest Orthopaedics in suburban Kansas City for 10 years.

Barbara also spent 12 years in geriatric primary care, both in a hospital-owned setting and an academic medical center, as well as 10 years in dental and orthodontic offices.  She has experience in everything from front desk operations to Strategic Planning for small groups.  In her current position she has implemented an array of technologies to help streamline operations for Midwest Orthopaedics, including digital imaging, EMR, electronic charge capture, remote banking, patient portals, and electronic benefit verification.   Her group has been recognized by MGMA as a “Better Performing” orthopaedic practice each year since 2005.

Barbara was recognized as one of “10 Great Orthopedic & ASC Administrators” by Becker’s ASC Review in 2009, and by Becker’s Orthopedic & Spine as one of “18 Orthopedic and Spine Practice CEO’s & Administrators to Know” in 2010.

Barbara attended the University of Kansas for both her B.S. in Business Administration and her Master’s in Health Services Administration and currently is on the Alumni Advisory Committee for the MHSA program.  She has served on the AAOE Board of Directors since 2007 and was AAOE President in 2012 – 2013.

Marc Sherry, OrthoVise

Marc Sherry

In addition to his role as a consultant for OrthoVise, Marc has been the Manager for Sports Rehabilitation within the University of Wisconsin Sports Medicine Department since 2009. He has worked for the University of Wisconsin Hospital since 1994 and has achieved expert clinician status in the UW Health professional advancement model.

Marc was instrumental in the development and implementation of direct access for physical therapy at UW Health. He has also participated in several clinical research studies, receiving the JOSPT award in 2004 for Excellence in Clinical Research. Marc also works very closely with the UW Health Sports Medicine physician staff and leads the development of post-operative rehabilitation guidelines in conjunction with them.

Marc is a licensed physical therapist and member of the Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association. He is also a licensed athletic trainer and is certified as an athletic trainer by the BOC. Marc adds to these professional credentials by being a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Marc also owns and operates a sports performance company, EHS Sports Performance. EHS specializes in sports performance programs for high school and college athletes, sports development programs for youth athletes, consulting for product development and educational seminars for allied health professionals.

Marc holds a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a transitional doctorate of physical therapy from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions.

Sami Spencer, OrthoVise

Sami Spencer

In conjunction with her role as an OrthoVise Advisor, Sami has been the CEO of Missoula Bone & Joint and the Missoula Bone & Joint Surgery Center since 2008.

Sami has almost 20 years of orthopedic management experience and also has experience in other specialties as well as a healthcare consultant. She has performed many practice assessments assisting practices in finding financial and operational solutions through her expertise and experience. Sami has lead and participated in strategic planning for multiple physician groups, reorganized departments, monitored and improved patient satisfaction, community relations and communications along with many other strategic functions.

Sami received her undergraduate degree in Business Management from Malone College in Canton, Ohio. She is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE) and has achieved board certification in medical practice management. She is also a Certified Medical Manager (CMM) through the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management (PAHCOM). Sami is an active member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) as well as the Chair of the Survey Committee for Montana MGMA. She has been a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Executives (AAOE) since February 2000 and has served as a Board Member, the Annual Conference and Education Committees and currently is a member of the Education Council and a Mentor through the ALPS program.
